Strong Collective Agreement at Lufthansa City Airlines: Significant Pay Increases and Better Working Conditions

Aircrew Alliance and ver.di has successfully negotiated a comprehensive collective agreement for cockpit and cabin crew at Lufthansa City Airlines. The agreement marks an important step toward fair pay and improved working conditions in a highly competitive aviation market. At the core of the agreement are substantial salary increases ranging from 20% to 35%, implemented in several stages. This represents a significant improvement for employees and sets a strong benchmark within the industry.

In addition to higher wages, the agreement introduces a range of structural improvements:

More days off and better roster planning, providing greater work-life balance

Additional vacation days

Expanded part-time options, offering more flexibility for employees

The agreement highlights the importance and effectiveness of collective bargaining. Especially in a growing and cost-sensitive segment of the aviation sector, it sends a clear signal: good working conditions and fair pay are achievable through strong representation and collective action. For employees at Lufthansa City Airlines, this agreement not only delivers immediate financial benefits but also creates more sustainable and predictable working conditions for the future.

Liebe Kolleginnen, liebe Kollegen,

Negotiations on the part-time collective agreement – a tough start

Dear colleagues,

The Cockpit and Cabin TK committees would like to inform you about the current status of the ongoing negotiations on the part-time CLA. Unfortunately, we have to conclude that there has been little in the way of genuine negotiations so far. We are currently still at the stage of simply exchanging infor-mation with the employer. We have yet to see any concrete proposals or even pro-gress in the negotiations. The discussions include considerations regarding the in-troduction of a 4/4 model for all; the introduction of other models is proving very difficult and may fail due to technical implementation issues caused by the planned changeover of the AIMS planning program.

Our goals are clear:

We are committed to transparent, predictable and fair conditions for part-time ar-rangements. However, the exchange is currently progressing slowly. The other side has so far shown little willingness to negotiate, which we as the bargaining committee strongly criticize. This is unnecessarily straining the patience of our colleagues. What happens next? Despite the slow progress of the talks, further meetings have already been sched-uled. We hope that the employer side will finally be prepared to enter into genuine negotiations and take our concerns seriously. We will, of course, continue to keep you informed of all developments in a trans-parent and timely manner. Your commitment counts! The support of the workforce is our strongest bargaining chip. Show your solidarity – talk to your colleagues, get involved in campaigns and stay informed. The contribution adjustments in accordance with the new VTVs will be imple-mented shortly, which means that your monthly contributions will change. Your TKs are available at any time to answer questions or receive feedback.

With solidarity, Your Cockpit and Cabin TK

New face, same mission – Christiane Lenz joins the Aircrew Alliance, bringing fresh momentum and a clear commitment to our shared goal: strong representation for pilots and cabin crew in all key forums, political discussions, and operational processes.

With extensive experience in advocacy and coordination, Christiane Lenz will take on central responsibilities in strategy, communication, and organizational development. She joins a strong and dedicated team that continues to work closely together to represent the interests of all crew members – in the cockpit and in the cabin.

Every day, crews take on critical responsibility for the safety and stability of air travel. That responsibility deserves backing – through clear advocacy, visibility, and effective support.

We believe in teamwork, clear messaging, and actionable solutions – to ensure the voices of aircrews are heard where it matters.

From regulatory procedures and labor rights to recognition and workload issues in daily operations, Aircrew Alliance remains the go-to platform for those who carry responsibility at altitude – and who expect representation on equal footing.

Together. Committed. Experienced. For cockpit and cabin.

04.07.2025 Eilmeldung, Infos rund ums Fliegen

  • Wissenschaftlich fundiert

  • In wenigen Minuten ausfüllbar

27.06.2025 Eilmeldung, Infos rund ums Fliegen

Implementation of our first CLA

Implementation of our first CLA

27.06.2025 Eilmeldung

Dear colleagues,

As many of you have already noticed, the new collective agreement has been implemented this month. By now, everyone should have received the corresponding payments in their accounts, and the payslips have been sent out as well.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you once again for your support throughout the negotiation process. Together, we have achieved a great milestone, and we now look forward to the challenges ahead.
At the end of July, we will resume negotiations on part-time work. One of our key goals is the implementation of the 168-hour flex pattern. This next step is just as important, and we will once again need your support.
Please continue to talk to your colleagues about the work we are doing, especially those who are new to the company. Many of them are still finding their way, and your conversations can make a real difference in helping them understand the importance of a strong and active union.

Let’s keep growing together, as a team and as a union. A high level of organisation gives us the strength we need, especially as we move into the next round of negotiations. The collective agreement we just concluded is a clear example of what we can achieve together.
Strong membership is the foundation for defending and improving our working conditions, especially in uncertain times. The company itself has pointed out the current challenges, and it is in moments like these that unity and solidarity matter most.

Of course, we are also implementing the collective agreement on the union side. This means that membership contributions are now automatically aligned with the new pay scales set out in the agreement.
Let’s continue to stand together, for each other, for better conditions, and for a stronger voice at the table.

LHX cockpit and cabin majority in ver.di – Call for negotiations issued

23.06.2025 Eilmeldung

Dear colleagues,

You did it: Over 50 percent of your LHX workforce has joined ver.di and become ver.di members in order to push for collective agreements that improve working and pay conditions.

You deserve full respect for that. Many of you have contributed to reaching this goal by engaging in the supporters’ circle or by talking with colleagues. You can be proud of what you’ve achieved and how quickly you have come together as a strong collective. Now, a majority of you are demanding ver.di collective agreements that will bring significant improvements in pay, as well as in working, planning, and deployment conditions. To achieve this, it’s important that we secure and continue to grow our strength. Especially because new colleagues are joining LHX almost daily. We want to convince both the new employees and those who are not yet organized in ver.di. Because when we all pull together, we can achieve more at the bargaining table. So please keep encouraging your colleagues to join the ver.di collective bargaining movement.

This call explicitly also goes out to colleagues who have previously supported another union.
You are warmly welcome with us! Let’s now bring together our commitment and strengths in
the area that the majority of colleagues from both cabin and cockpit have democratically
chosen.

As soon as we receive a response from the employer, we will inform you.

In the meantime, the ver.di bargaining committees will begin their work and will, in the short
term, develop concrete demands for the negotiations based on the results of the demands
survey.

We will keep you informed every step of the way.

EZY 15 years of German work contracts

24.04.2025 Eilmeldung

Dear colleagues,

We hope you had happy Easter holidays and that you were able to enjoy the days with your families and friends. Even if spring is still a little late, we are starting a special year with fresh momentum!

15 years of German work contracts On May 1, we will be celebrating an important anniversary: our German work contracts have been in place for 15 years – a great success that would not have been possible without the commitment of many colleagues and the strong support of ver.di. This milestone stands for fair working conditions, security and collective bargaining standards that we can be proud of! More for your future: increase in the employer-financed pension

There will be another welcome change from April:

The employer-financed pension will be increased significantly – from 3% to 6.5%! This is a strong sign of recognition and an important contribution to your financial security in retirement.

This month also saw the next increase in our salaries of 3.2%. A big thank you to everyone who is continuously working for improvements in the interests of our employees. Together we are shaping the future – with solidarity, strength and success!

With best regards You Cabin TK

16.01.2025 Eilmeldung

Dear colleagues, dear ver.di members

First of all, we would like to wish you a happy new year. As already mentioned in the brief information at the end of December, we can now inform you that we were able to reach a collective agreement on the company pension scheme.

On 1 January 2017, the employer financed company pension scheme was introduced in the cabin for the first time, for all employees who were on a German contract at the time and with a two year waiting period for all new hires. Nothing has changed since 2017; the employer has always paid 3% of our basic salary into the pension scheme. As 3% is not up to date, we cancelled the Cabin Pension collective agreement last year and renegotiated it with easyJet.

We are pleased to say that from 1 April 2025, the pension scheme financed solely by the employer will increase to 6.5% of basic salary. Together with the salary increase in April 2025 and the newly introduced level system, the amount paid in will increase significantly. In the course of these negotiations, the duration of the pay CLA was extended by 3 months. We have also been able to reduce the waiting period for new employees to 6 months.
